Learn More About West Coast Paws

WHO WE ARE

West Coast Paws Dog Rescue (WCP) is a non-profit organization founded in 2022 by two friends with a shared passion for dog rescue. The goal of WCP is to find adopters on the West Coast of Canada for dogs who are in desperate need of loving homes. Currently, we adopt from Mexico to Canada. We are hoping that 2022 brings expansion to WCP so we can bring dogs from all over the world!

MISSION

WCP is a not-for-profit dog rescue organization based in Vancouver, Canada. Our mission is to find safe and nurturing homes for dogs in need and to provide ample post-adoption support to our adopters. We want to continue to be advocates for the animals to ensure they feel protected and loved. We place a strong emphasis on compassionate care for the animals.

VISION

Through education and awareness, we want to create a safe and loving community for our dogs. Being pawrents of rescue-pups ourselves, we also want to provide support and training to help our adopters with their new furry family members.

Our Values

LEADERSHIP

WCP strives to be a leader in the community for promoting animal welfare through education, awareness and advocacy.

INTEGRITY

WCP is transparent and honest in its actions and communications to give our adopters and rescue partners a high level of confidence.

SUSTAINING THE ORGANIZATION

Our high standard of care for WCP dogs does not come for free. In order to maintain these standards and achieve financial stability, fundraisers, community awareness and participation are a must!

Meet Our Founders

  • Hi dog lovers!

I am the co-founder of West Coast Paws, a crazy dog mum, avid hiker, and burrito enthusiast.

I am in the process of obtaining my CCPDT certification with the hopes of opening my own dog training business in the next few years.

I am the proud dog mum of Kona; a very busy and sweet (but psycho) border collie mix. Kona was originally from South Korea and we adopted her in 2020. Although I was always enthusiastic about ‘all-things-dogs’, my passion for dog rescue exponentially grew after adopting Kona. Adopting has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences and I couldn’t be more proud of how far my sweet pup has come since we first took her home. The learning experiences have been endless and rehabilitating Kona (although still a work in progress) is one of my greatest achievements.

I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to partner with my buddy Zoe and work in the world of dog rescue together. I am so excited to see what amazing things are in store for West Coast Paws!

  • Hey, thanks for being here fellow dog lover!

I am the other co-founder of West Coast Paws, lover of all things dogs, and a book enthusiast (but burrito’s aren’t bad, either).

I am the dog mama to a rescue from the streets of China, Ellie.

Adopting Ellie has been the definition of “the highs are high and the lows are low”, but I wouldn’t change a thing about the journey. Altering the course of someone’s life in such a significant way with adoption (I’ll let you decide if I’m talking about my life or Ellie’s).

I am so blessed to be doing this with my friend Hannah, and we’re happy you’re here reading! We hope you consider adopting or at the very least, spread the word about our organization.
